bighippo.co.uk was set up to offer you a more human and friendly way of buying a bathroom on the internet . We like to think we do a great job. However, if you have experienced anything other than total satisfaction with your purchase, then please let us know.
Alternatively, we are always happy to hear what we have done well, so get in touch and let us know how we measure up!

1. General Information
In order for us all to be protected, we have set out the terms & conditions within which we trade. They may seem long and boring, but in the event of a problem, we will always refer to these terms so please do take a few minutes to check that you are aware of them when using the site. We use the term "Customer" a lot which means you. What we really mean is "friend" - it's just that our solicitors won't let us use it here! In case you wonder who the "We" is, in most of what you are about to read, that means us, Roland Kingsley Limited (trading as bighippo bathrooms).
The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions on bighippo.co.uk. The placement of an order indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. You might find it useful to print a copy for future use. As much as we like everyone, you must be at least 18 years of age and accept delivery within the UK to order goods through this website . We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.
In the event that there is any conflict between you, the customer and bighippo bathrooms, the terms as set out here will overrule any other terms.
All orders are accepted when your credit/charge/debit card is processed. Goods will not be shipped until funds have cleared.
Even though it is our main method of communication, please be aware that any email or other acknowledgment of your order is merely to report that your request has been received and will be looked at, and does not in any way denote acceptance of your order regardless of any wording on the email.
We also reserve the right, at any time prior to acceptance, to refuse any order or any part of an order, or to require further or better information to enable us to evaluate and/or process the order.
2. Description of Goods
We use the latest information we can get our hands on (images, descriptive matter, specifications) for the sole purpose of giving as accurate a description of the goods as possible. Because this information is received from other sources, all specifications given to the Customer are approximate and intended as a guide only. bighippo bathrooms does not accept responsibility for any preparation work you may carry out based upon such specifications.
3. Cancellation of Orders and Returns
3.a Cancellation of Order
If you decide to cancel your order for whatever reason (which you are perfectly entitled to do), you must tell us by sending an email to cancelorder@bighipoo.co.uk within 7 working days of delivery of your goods, whereupon we will give you a cancellation number. It is important that you keep this number safe as it is our guarantee to you that we have acknowledged receipt of your cancel order request. Simply complete your returns form (sent with your order) ensuring the cancel order code is clearly indicated.
Please note that if you cancel your order or return the goods within 7 days, in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations, no restocking charge will be made. In the case that you have simply changed your mind outside of this 7 day period (and within our 30 days return period), a 15% re-stocking charge will be applied and the cost of the return will be the responsibility of the customer. Returns outside this period will not be accepted.
In the case of large items like baths and shower cabins, please be aware that the cost for returning such items is much more expensive than what you pay for delivery from us. It is essential that your returned items are sent back to us in the condition in which you received them, otherwise we may not provide a full refund. We will refund any cancellation or refund money due within 30 days of the return, less any delivery costs incurred.
3b. Returns Policy - Damaged or Misdescribed Goods
Whilst we would hope that you will love everything you buy from us, we know that it is not always the case, which is why we feel we have a generous returns system in place.
All returns must be sent back with a fully completed returns form (sent with your order). Simply email returnorder@bighippo.co.uk to receive your returns number. This must be done within 30 days of the receipt of your goods.
In the case of faulty or misdescribed and guaranteed goods becoming defective outside of the 7 and 30 day return period, we shall ask you to return the goods yourself and we will refund you the reasonable postage costs. Special order goods made to your own specification (i.e. spa baths) will incur a 50% restocking charge unless misdescribed or faulty. It is therefore important you make absolutely sure your requirements are correct on purchase.
In the event that faulty goods are returned and proven to work as described, the item will be returned to you and no refund shall be made.

4. Delivery of Goods
We try our very best to have all your goods delivered within 7-10 days (taps & showers within 5-7 days). However, in some cases, supplier delays and other problems outside our control may mean that this is not possible. In all cases, you will receive a phone call within 24 hours of us having acknowledged receipt of your order to discuss your preferred delivery requirements. As such, delivery guidelines are estimates but where actual delivery exceeds 14 days from the agreed date of delivery, you will be given the option to cancel your order.
The delivery window is considered to start the next working day after acknowledging receipt of your order. Orders placed at the weekend will have a delivery window commencing on a Monday (where a Monday is not a bank holiday).
As we try to deliver all items ourselves, door-to-door, it is essential that you provide us with a contact number where we can reach you on the day of delivery. We will always try to call on the day of delivery (where it is safe to do so) to give you as accurate a delivery time as possible.
Certain small items may be sent via courier in order to ensure you receive your small items in a timely manner.
We advise you NOT to book your installers or engage in any preparatory work until we have delivered all your goods. If any items are out of stock or you have bought a special order item, we will advise you of the specific delivery date to help you plan the installation as best you can.
We also insist that you check your delivery for shortages, damages and manufacturing faults whilst our driver is with you. We cannot be held responsible for any shortages, damages and manufacturing faults beyond 72 hours from the date of delivery of the goods. Please report any problems to either deliveryproblems@bighippo.co.uk or call (01423) 528 705 within 72 hours of receipt of your goods. We want to help you create the bathroom of your dreams, so the sooner you tell us of any problem, the sooner we can put them right.
Delivery will normally be made by a single driver who will place the goods in a location, within a reasonable distance from where the van is parked. However, the emphasis is on reasonable - the driver cannot be expected to walk down country lanes with the goods for example. To comply with Health & Safety regulations, the driver cannot lift heavy items on his own so it is essential that when taking delivery of heavy items such as and not limited to, shower cabins and baths that there is an able-bodied person available to assist our driver. They are lovely lads and we don't want to see them get hurt!
Without prejudice to the statutory rights afforded to consumers under English law, Roland Kingsley Ltd accepts no liability for any failure to ship products where this results from its inability to do so resulting from acts of god, civil commotion, riots, flood, draught, fire, legislation or other factors outside it's control,or its decision on reasonable grounds not to do so for reasons of suspicion of credit card fraud or similar, provided that it takes all reasonable steps to notify you within fourteen (14) days of order placement that products will not be shipped as ordered.
5. Payment of Goods
We want to make it as easy to buy from us as possible, which is why we accept all major credit and debit cards. However, in order to make this process easier for everyone, it is important that you include the full postal address and telephone number of the residence at which the card is registered. Our card payment system needs to check that the card being used is registered at the same address. Once it has done this we can process your order quickly. Because we are nice and friendly, we can deliver to addresses other than that which the card is registered to, although we will still need your card-registered address too.
6. Pricing Errors
In the event that we have made a mistake in the price on the website or on any promotional matter whatsoever, Roland Kingsley Ltd (t/a bighippo bathrooms) will not be bound to honour any orders made at that price.

Without prejudice to statutory rights afforded to purchasers of products, the information and materials contained within this site, including, without limitation, text, graphics and links, are provided on an "as is" basis with no warranty, and in particular Roland Kingsley Ltd (t/a bighippo.co.uk) does no represent or warrant that the information accessible via this site is accurate, complete or current, or that the use of this site is free of risk or viruses or other damage. Price and availability information is subject to change without notice. If you have a technical query, it should be directed to a suitably qualified professional (i.e. a Corgi registered gas installer or a Member of The Institute of Plumbing. You agree that any advice given by a staff member of Roland Kingsley Ltd (t/a bighippo bathrooms) will not be relied upon without verification by a suitably qualified professional. Roland Kingsley Ltd (t/a bighippo bathrooms) accepts no responsibility for any damage caused by your reliance on any such advice.
Except as provided above, there are no other warranties, conditions or other terms, express or implied, statutory or otherwise, and all such terms are hereby excluded to the maximum extent permitted by law.
